The opportunity

We are looking for several casual workers in need of early morning and late afternoon shifts as a kitchen assistant for our bakeries in Chermside, Toowoomba, and Ipswich QLD.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the back of house operations and ensuring our customers receive the freshest, most delicious baked goods, and salad rolls (including ‘banh mi’ rolls).

What you'll be doing

Assisting with food preparation, including chopping, cutting, mixing, and portioning ingredients

Preparing and staging baked goods for sale (including slicing loaves of bread, displaying bread, pies and sausage rolls and cakes in display cabinets and on shelves)

Preparing and packaging salad rolls for sale (including cutting and slicing cold meats, hot meats, salad ingredients, applying spreads, and displaying rolls in an attractive way)

Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment by regularly cleaning equipment and work surfaces

Restocking and rotating ingredients to ensure freshness

Following food safety and hygiene protocols at all times

Providing support to the wider bakery team as needed

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a kitchen assistant or similar role in the hospitality industry (students and mum’s looking to re-enter the workforce are welcome to apply)

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety

Ability to work efficiently (quickly) and take direction well

Good communication skills and a friendly, happy, customer-focused attitude
