This is an exciting opportunity to join Terrain NRM—a leading not-for-profit environmental stewardship organisation—at the forefront of protecting and restoring rivers, estuaries, wetlands and reefs across Far North Queensland.

As the natural resource management organisation for the Wet Tropics region, Terrain NRM is seeking an accomplished leader to oversee a dynamic portfolio of programs and projects spanning nine river catchments, from the Daintree to the Herbert.

As a key member of our Executive Leadership Team, you’ll help drive the delivery of our strategic plan and vision: a thriving and sustainable Wet Tropics, powered by community-driven solutions. You’ll lead and support a dedicated team of 17 staff delivering over $40 million in projects.

We’re looking for someone who is:

A proven leader with excellent organisational and project management skills, and a track record of delivering results on time and within budget.

Experienced in managing high-performing teams and fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

A strategic thinker with strong technical knowledge of natural resource management, waterway health and the Great Barrier Reef.

A skilled communicator and collaborator, capable of building and maintaining strategic partnerships across sectors.

An awareness of environmental markets and opportunities in regenerative economic development.

Commercially aware, investment-savvy, and passionate about advocating for the Wet Tropics region.

Based out of Cairns, Tully, Innisfail or Atherton.

Permanent Full Time (36.25 hours per week) – Part-time or job share arrangement negotiable.

Attractive renumeration from $139,687 - $151,196 (based on 72.5 hours per fortnight).
