Muscular Dystrophy Australia (MDA) was founded in 1984 and is the national peak body for those living with neuromuscular disease (NMD) across Australia. Our Mission is to understand and be responsive to community needs to provide high-impact programs, services and support to both the muscular dystrophy and other related neuromuscular disease communities and to fund innovative research.

MDA represents the needs of more than 40,000 people living with one of 40 different types of NMD, all of which affect muscle strength. The programs, support and services we provide use evidence-based and consumer-informed approaches to optimise the lived experience of NMD.

about the role

The Marketing Manager is a pivotal role, responsible for overseeing and coordinating a small team across all aspects of brand management, marketing & communications activity, both internally and externally. This role is key to ensuring MDA’s brand messaging and identity are clear, consistent, and aligned with our strategic goals.

The Marketing Manager will not only help to set and monitor strategy for all marketing plans and activities, but will be a key contributor to organisational strategy, responsible for growing and retaining the client and donor base and leading the launch, promotion and uptake of new product offerings, including marketing collateral as well as supporting all research announcements and funding opportunities.

about you

The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of those affected by neuromuscular disease and will have a proven track record in marketing, strategic communications and digital marketing, preferably within a health and medical research and/or not for profit setting with experience in social media and media management highly considered.
