Our client is a leading privately-owned residential property developer based in Greater Sydney, specialising in family homes and medium-density housing. With two integrated divisions, the Group has a strong market presence and is committed to driving innovation and growth within the property development sector.

We are seeking a dynamic, technically focused and ambitious individual to join the leadership team and support the C-Suite in delivering an aggressive growth strategy . Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial operations, including financial reporting, control and tax planning, forecasting and investment analysis. This is a key leadership position that will require close collaboration with senior management, external investors, banks, and legal teams.

You will be expected to manage the financial health of the company while providing clear financial insights to guide business decisions, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with all statutory regulations. Your strategic contributions will drive the financial direction and ensure continued growth and profitability for the Group’s diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accounting standards.

Lead the development and management of a 12-month rolling financial forecast, integrating cash flow, profit, and loss projections.

Evaluate financial feasibility and business cases for new development opportunities and land acquisitions, ensuring alignment with ROI targets. This requires specific knowledge and experience with land related tax considerations such as GST, land tax and stamp duty.

Work with investors, financial institutions, and banks to secure funding for development projects.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA, CA, CFA, or equivalent qualification preferred.

At least 10-15 years of progressive finance experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role within property development.

Expertise in financial forecasting, tax compliance, and business case analysis in the context of property development.

Previous investment analysis experience, particularly within residential property development.

Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers and manage a team effectively.
