About the role

Ironbar Saloon in Port Douglas, Queensland is seeking a friendly and experienced Security Guard/Crowd Controller to join our team. This is a casual position in an exciting hospitality environment, perfect for those who thrive in a vibrant social setting.

What you'll be doing

• Maintaining the safety and security of our patrons, staff and premises
• Monitoring the venue to identify and address any potential issues or disturbances
• Assisting with the orderly management of queues and controlling the flow of people entering and exiting the venue
• Providing excellent customer service and a warm welcome to all our guests
• Collaborating with the management team to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies

What we're looking for

• Prior experience as a security guard or crowd controller, preferably in the hospitality industry
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to de-escalate and resolve conflicts
• A friendly, professional and approachable demeanour
• Exceptional situational awareness and problem-solving skills
• Certification in security or crowd control (or willingness to obtain)
• A current Queensland Security Licence
