A growing technology company is seeking a hands-on RF Electronics Team Lead to guide a skilled group of Electronic and RF Engineers in developing cutting-edge detection and electronic warfare systems. This role is ideal for a technically experienced engineer ready to lead high-impact projects while remaining actively involved in hardware design and validation.

You’ll report to the Embedded Hardware Manager and play a key role in shaping the roadmap, scaling processes, and driving product quality across both digital and RF-based systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

Technical Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of RF and Electronic Engineers across hardware development projects
• Allocate tasks and manage workloads to align with business priorities and product roadmaps
• Support hiring, planning, and resource forecasting to ensure team capability
• Champion best practices in documentation, quality control, and lifecycle methodologies
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality and efficiency in hardware sourcing

Individual Contribution

• Design and optimise electronic systems for performance, reliability, and manufacturability
• Execute schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium, including component library management
• Conduct validation of high-speed digital and RF interfaces using advanced test equipment
• Plan and execute system-level hardware verification and production test support
• Drive continuous improvement in lab processes, tools, and workflows

What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or related technical discipline
• 10+ years’ industry experience in electronic hardware development
• 2–3 years leading engineering teams or managing technical projects
• Strong understanding of automated testing frameworks and verification strategies
• Skilled in using Altium Designer and test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, etc.)
• Proven expertise in RF hardware design, switch-mode power supplies, and high-speed PCB layout
• Familiarity with global RF compliance standards and antenna principles
• Experience designing battery-powered devices and ruggedised electronics

Bonus Skills

• PMP or Agile certification
• Experience with RF filters, power amplifiers, or thermal design
• Background in Software Defined Radio or modulation schemes
• Deep understanding of receiver sensitivity, dynamic range, and noise figure principles
