About the Role
Our client is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to lead projects in the study phase for Greenfield and Brownfield sites. This role is focused on managing early-stage projects ranging from $50,000 to $1.5 million, ensuring they are scoped, resourced, and executed efficiently. If you have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and experience in mineral processing including heavy and rare earth minerals, we want to hear from you.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
• Experience in the Study Phase of projects, especially in mineral processing, modular plants, and rare earth processing
• Strong technical expertise in modular plant design and process engineering
• Project management skills, including scheduling, resourcing, and invoicing
• Client-facing experience with the ability to manage client expectations
• Leadership skills for mentoring and guiding small engineering teams
• Experience working with mineral sands and rare earth elements is essential
• Contract management and design scope experience is a plus

Duties & Responsibilities
• Lead the study phase of projects, managing feasibility studies, scoping, and cost estimations
• Oversee scheduling, resourcing, and invoicing, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Act as the primary client contact, managing expectations and providing project updates
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on modular plant design and process engineering
• Mentor and lead a small project engineering team, ensuring effective collaboration and problem-solving
