Shujinko is an authentic Japanese restaurant straight out of Tokyo. It is a rapidly growing restaurant located in the heart of Melbourne CBD on Russell street close to Chinatown and Melbourne night clubs and pubs. It specialises in high quality authentic Japanese cuisine.

We are seeking an outstanding chef to join our highly skilled and talented team that is committed to expanding our business operations and our reputation in the food and wine industry in Melbourne. We are looking for a chef with at least 2 years of experience and the ability to learn, 'can do attitude' and willing to grow along with Venue Manager.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

- Ensuring the exceptional quality of the food is maintained in conjunction with timely service at all times

- Contribute to the development of menu in line with business requirements

- Ensure the Food Safety Program is followed and complied with, including regular reporting

- Create and implement a thorough Cleaning Roster to ensure that the highest level of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area at all times

- Complete food costings and other reports as required

- Assist with staff training of Kitchen staff

- Take deliveries, complete stocktaking and place orders and liaise with suppliers as required

- Maintain agreed KPIs and work closely with management team to ensure profitability of the business

To be considered for this role, you must have the following skills and attributes:

- Relevant qualifications namely a diploma or advanced diploma in hospitality management, and experience in Asian cookery

- Fluency in English language

- Passion for Japanese food and culture

- Be a team player.

This is a full-time position offering an attractive remuneration package of $76,000 per year + Superannuation to be offered to the most suitable candidate with the right set of skills and experience.
