About the role

As the Duty Manager at the Paddo Tavern, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of this bustling hospitality venue located in the heart of Brisbane's CBD and inner suburbs. Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day running of the tavern, from staff management to customer service and everything in between. This full-time position offers the opportunity to develop your skills and experience within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

What you'll be doing

Supervising and coordinating the work of the front-of-house and back-of-house teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience

Overseeing the opening and closing procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant liquor licensing and safety regulations

Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for supplies as needed

Handling customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner

Supporting the General Manager in the development and implementation of operational strategies and policies

Fostering a positive, collaborative work environment and providing mentorship to junior staff members

Generating daily reports and analysing key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement

What we're looking for

Several years of experience in a similar Duty Manager or Assistant Manager role within the hospitality industry

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with composure

Proficient in inventory management, cost control, and financial reporting

Thorough understanding of liquor licensing laws and health and safety regulations

Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills

Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
