About the Centre
Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre is a state-of-the-art recreation centre located in the heart of Traralgon, Victoria and is owned by Latrobe City Council, and managed by YMCA Victoria. We run a variety of fitness and swim programs and memberships to suit adults and children. The centre houses a Gym, three Group Fitness Rooms, Indoor 50m Pool, Outdoor 25m Pool, Indoor Warm Water Pool, Indoor designated Learn to Swim Pool, Spa/Sauna/Steam Room, two large Water Slides, Aqua Playground and on site Café.
About the Role
Our ideal candidate will have strong café or kiosk management and barista experience, as well as a passion for providing welcoming service to a diverse community.
As the Café Supervisor, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting a small core team to deliver a diverse over the counter food and beverage service. You will create a positive, welcoming and supportive workplace, while delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will maintain high service standards, oversee the daily operations and administration, including stock management and ordering, and work to ensure the financial success and ongoing viability of the cafe.
The hourly rate of this part-time role is $31.24 + super and you will work approximately 20-25hrs per week.
About You
You will have strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team of staff and competing priorities in a busy leisure centre environment.
- Previous experience in a similar facility or similar role
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing and leading staff
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Strong communication, both oral and written skills
- Excellent computer skills
You will be available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends.
Essential Qualifications
- Food Safety Supervisor certificate (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
- Do Food Safely Completion (online free short-course)
- HLTAID009- Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID011- Provide First Aid
