- Continuing | Part-Time at 0.4FTE - 0.6FTE
- Lecturer | Academic Level B | $110,127 - $130,325 p.a. pro rata + 17% superannuation
- Senior Lecturer | Academic Level C | $134,362 - $154,558 p.a. pro rata + 17% superannuation
- plus any applicable and associated clinical loading

Clinical Skills Coordinator - Lecturer (Level B)
About the Role
The Clinical Skills Coordinator will coordinate the delivery of teaching of clinical skills with a team of tutors in the MD course, working with simulated patients and task trainers. The lecturer will contribute to delivering excellence in teaching and learning within the College of Medicine and Public Health. The primary focus of this position will be coordinating the delivery of teaching and assessment of clinical skills such as history taking, physical examination, clinical reasoning and basic procedural skills, and ensuring the ongoing quality improvement of the University's medical program.
Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
- Work with a team of tutors in development and delivery of the clinical skills curriculum.
- Ensuring that teaching and assessment are delivered in consistent and standardised manner across year levels and locations.
- Conduct inspiring teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience in Medicine topics, with a focus on clinical skills training and utilising the method of clinical simulation.
- Contributing to curriculum design and review processes.
- Conduct assessments associated with the teaching in Medicine
- Make effective use of innovations and technologies in teaching practice.
About You
The successful candidate will have clinical experience and standing in Medicine, as well as eligibility for registration with AHPRA as a medical doctor.
To be successful in this role you will exhibit:
- Evidence of student-centred approach and a good understanding of appropriate assessment techniques - including feedback.
- Evidence of performance in teaching at a tertiary or Fellowship level, inclusive of a relevant simulation or clinical setting.
- Evidence of an independent and innovative contribution to the development, delivery and evaluation of innovative teaching and learning strategies both in the classroom and in clinical education, including student assessment.
- Demonstrated capacity to contribute to curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.
Clinical Skills Coordinator - Senior Lecturer (Level C)
About the Role
The Clinical Skills Coordinator will coordinate the delivery of teaching of clinical skills with a team of tutors in the MD course, working with simulated patients and task trainers. The primary focus of this position will be coordinating the delivery of teaching and assessment of clinical skills such as history taking, physical examination, clinical reasoning and basic procedural skills, and ensuring the ongoing quality improvement of the University's medical program.
The Senior Lecturer will provide strong leadership in driving excellence in teaching and learning across the diverse range of Medicine topics and courses within the College of Medicine and Public Health. With the primary focus to provide leadership and direction related to teaching and teaching-related duties, this position will aim to deliver excellence in teaching through coordination, curriculum design and review, delivery innovation and in using approaches that ultimately enhance the student experience.
Responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
- Work with a team of tutors in development and delivery of the clinical skills curriculum.
- Ensuring that teaching and assessment are delivered in consistent and standardised manner across year levels and locations.
- Conduct inspiring teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience in Medicine topics, with a focus on clinical skills training and utilising the method of clinical simulation.
- Create, coordinate and conduct inspiring teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience.
- Contribute to the planning and evaluation of these topics, undertaking the roles of Topic Coordinator and Couse Coordinator as required.
- Play a lead role in the review, renewal, development and design of curricula and courses that are attractive to existing and new cohorts of students and that nurture creativity and critical-thinking skills.
- Significant involvement in and/or leading activities relating to internal and external compliance and professional accreditation of courses.
About You
The successful candidate will have clinical experience and standing in Medicine, as well as eligibility for registration with AHPRA as a medical doctor.
The successful candidate will have completed a PhD or EdD, or have qualifications and equivalent clinical experience and standing in Medicine (such as a Fellowship in a recognised medical discipline), as well as recognition of academic standing at a national or international level in the discipline area.
To be successful in this role you will exhibit:
- Evidence of sustained use of learning and teaching approaches which enhance student success.
- Evidence of significant and sustained excellence in teaching performance at a tertiary level.
- Evidence of significant and independent innovation in learning and teaching delivery or design.
- Demonstrated capacity for successful leadership of teaching teams at course and/or the program level.
- Capacity to develop programs for international off-shore delivery independently or in collaboration with external partners.
- Evidence of providing leadership in professional activities within a relevant external professional domain and within a wider community context at local, national or international level (topic/course coordinator, major award programs, leadership in quality assurance processes and relationship building with external parties including consultancy work and conferences).
