The Company
Our client manufactures and hires out mobile accommodation camps, supplying to the mining, emergency services, oil & gas and energy industries, Australia wide. Our client can configure camps to their clients specifications and requirements providing accommodation units, commercial kitchens, recreational units, offices and laundries.
Due to a large increase in camp orders for commercial hire, our client is currently in an expansion / accelerated growth phase where the company is transitioning from a small WA based operation to a medium sized business, operating Australia wide.
Our client is seeking Chef’s to join their expanding team for work in Western Australia and Queensland.
The Role
Working as a small two-person team (Chef & Utility) you will be responsible for the preparing all meals for the workers stationed at their site. The responsibilities that can be expected for the Chef are, but not limited to;
Food Preparation and presentation for a 20 - 30 person camp site
Meal planning for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, ensuring there is variety of meals throughout the week
Uphold impeccable food hygiene standards and best safety practices, as directed by Australian Food Storage & Handling requirements
Responsible for ordering all food supplies & keeping to the weekly food budget
Managing food storage of Dry & Cold Storage undertaking regular stock takes, ensuring food items are not out of date & are not wasted
Maintaining the Kitchen to a high standard of cleanliness at all times which includes washing dishes & cooking utensils
Direct the Utility team member in Kitchen Hand tasks
Assisting the Utility team member with room cleaning when not busy cooking
FIFO Roster
This is a FIFO Position where the following applies,
FIFO from Perth to WA Remote Sites
12 Hour Days – Split Shifts
2 & 2 Weeks
The Candidate
We are seeking a qualified Chef that has at least 1 year experience working as a Chef on a FIFO basis. Essential Criteria includes;
Qualification as a Chef such as Cert III in Commercial Cookery
1+ years working as a Chef on remote sites on a FIFO Basis
Has experience in Meal Planning, Food Ordering & Working to Food & Beverage Budgets
Possess a C-Class Driver’s License
Be able to Pass Medical & D&A Screen
In addition, we are seeking a candidate that possess the following skills and personality traits
Works well in a team or autonomously
Is able to take direction & complete tasks without supervision or assistance
Considers themselves as possessing a very strong work ethic, especially in time keeping & attendance
Exceptional communication skills – written & verbal
Be able to work under pressure where tight deadlines occur regularly
Have attention to detail in all facets of your work
Have excellent organizational skills, where prioritizing work and changing schedules is standard practice
Remuneration
Depending on experience, qualifications and past work history, pay rates will be the following;
$45.00 to $50.00 Per Hour Flat – Depending on Experience
+ Superannuation on all hours worked
