The Opportunity

Our client is a community focused Federal Government Agency, currently seeking an EL1 Finance Business Partner to take on a leadership role in the Agency, to support planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the broader team and assigned contractors working within the area.

Initial daily rate contract spanning 6 months with further extension possible, offering EL1 level day rates of $602.55 + Super, to be based out of Richmond in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities will include:

• Delivering end of month outputs for the assigned Groups, ensuring quality outcome and timeliness.
• Managing internal and external stakeholders, creating trusted partnerships with key business stakeholders, and assisting with planning, strategydevelopment and risk mitigation.
• Leading implementation of financial decisions and budget process.
• Leading financial policy and procedure development and updates Initiating and implementing innovation and improvements of existing business practice to achieve efficiency.
• Leading assigned projects and collaborating with wider Branch/Division/Group to achieve outcomes.
• Providing leadership and mentoring and supporting your direct team.

About you:

• Australian citizenship is mandatory to be considered eligible to work for this Federal Government Agency.
• Accounting knowledge and associated professional qualifications
• CPA OR CA certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoints
• Proficiency in SAP and SAP BT
• Executive level verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to identify and resolve/mitigate issues/risks
• Team management / leadership skills
• Strategic thinking
• Ability to work with uncertainty and under pressure
• Ability to plan and prioritise for team deliverables
