CBR Recruitment is delighted to be working with the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO) to recruit a Senior Project Officer, to the Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Team. NACCHO is the national peak body representing 146 Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) and the lead advisor to the Commonwealth Government on primary health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples nationally. NACCHO is coordinating the implementation of an innovative model of care to contribute to the eradication of new cases of Acute Rheumatic Fever (ARF) and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.
Position Overview:
The Senior Project Officer, RHD role is responsible for contributing to the Echo in ACCHOs Project. This project aims to strengthen the capacity of primary healthcare workers in the ACCHO sector to deliver equitable echocardiography services that better meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at risk of, or living with, ARF/RHD. This role would be well suited to someone with a clinical background who has strong project management capabilities and an interest in supporting the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s access to primary health care.
Key Responsibilities:
Project management, including preparing reports, discussion papers, and briefs.
Researching and collating information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
Coordinating training workshops.
Providing project support.
Analysing feedback and reports to inform development and delivery.
Facilitating communication with key stakeholders, including clinical governance groups, and other ACCHOs.
Other duties as requested.
The skills and experience we are seeking:
Demonstrated program, project, and/or policy experience.
Confidence in coordinating and managing a range of tasks.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to think strategically and analytically, show initiative and sound judgement.
Strong skills in cross cultural communication and relationship management.
Experience in a similar culturally safe primary health care setting would be highly regarded.
Relevant qualifications are also highly desirable.
