The Role
We have an exciting temporary part-time (0.5) Teacher position available, up to 30 June 2026 unless otherwise determined, to join our Skills for Education Employment (SEE) Delivery team at TAFE Queensland’s Charleville Campus.
As a TAFE Teacher in Skills for Education and Employment (SEE), you will have the opportunity to change lives by improving the participants’ Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills giving students options for further training and employment.
This position reports to the Western Queensland Manager.
Salary
The salary range for a TAFE Teacher is $44,899 - $59,264 (gross) per annum, depending on educational qualifications held and teaching experience.

Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must possess the following:
- Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed;
- Undergraduate degree of at least three years duration awarded by an Australian university or tertiary institution, or its onshore or overseas equivalent (recognised in Australia);
- Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided;
- Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided;
- Evidence of undertaking professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency-based training and assessment;
- Current Qld Drivers licence.
Additionally, to become a TAFE Teacher, you must hold one of the following training and assessment credentials:
- TAE40122 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40116 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or
- TAE40110 - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools; or
- TAE50111 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
- TAE50116 - Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or its successor; or
- TAE50211 - Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
- TAE50216 - Diploma of Training Design and Development, or its successor; or
- A higher-level qualification in adult education (approved by TAFE Queensland).
Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.
Highly Desirable
Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:
- Post graduate TESOL qualification in adult education or equivalent (recognised in Australia);
- High level of digital literacy skills across various platforms (online Learning Management Systems).
