Title: Team Leader Privacy & Access to Information, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $117,656.77 to $136,737.20 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Our opportunity :
The key focus areas of this role include:
Take responsibility and lead the development, implementation, review and evaluation of strategies, policies and procedures governing privacy and information access, including maintaining compliance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA) and the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (PPIPA).
Manage formal access applications, review processes and decisions as well as privacy complaints from the community, the Information and Privacy Commission (IPC) and the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT). Represent Council as required at NCAT.
Lead a team of privacy and access to information specialists to manage access applications, informal information requests, access to CCTV footage, subpoenas and privacy queries from staff, councillors and the community.
About you :
We are seeking Council’s new designated officer for access to information and privacy. As the leader of a newly formed specialist team, you’ll bring resilience and sound judgement, guiding the organisation through complex legislative requirements with clarity and confidence. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring Council meets its obligations under information access and privacy laws, while also building strong relationships with external regulatory bodies.
