About the company/role:

Our client, a government organisation, is seeking a Systems Support Engineer to join their team based in the western suburbs of Brisbane on a casual ongoing basis, with the view to go permanent.

Duties:

This role is to deliver support to customers, troubleshooting and fixing software issues, and installing the platform into mine sites around Australia.

This role necessitates the ability to effectively work with varied technologies, including modern frameworks and architectures, as well as legacy, unsupported tech stakes. Also required are exceptional communication skills, coupled with a strong logical and analytical mindset.

• Support customers using the Software platform in underground mining operations around Australia
• Maintain the health and stability of legacy platform thought regular maintenance and troubleshooting needed
• Liaise with and advise clients on the design and operation of min gas monitoring systems and software
• Maintain product quality in accordance with the requirements of ISO9001
• Participate in all-hours provision of profession and technical support services

Skills/experience:

• Applicants must have a degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with Software development
• Solid database knowledge, including database design and SQL script, particularly in MS SQL Server.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to deliver a high level of customer service to clients
• Applicants will be required to frequently work on weekends and outside of normal working hours at short notice.
