The Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board also known as TITEB is the employment, training, and allied education services provider for the Tiwi Islands Communities. Our programs facilitate employment, economic development and education outcomes and supports the community to reach their potential through the delivery of the Community Development Program (CDP), Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Group Training Organisation (GTO), Remote School Attendance Program (RSAS) and the School Nutrition Program (SNP).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under the direction of the Group Training Coordinator, The Field Officer supports mostly female trainees and apprentices on the Tiwi Islands to successfully progress through their qualification. This includes, but is not limited to, recruitment and onboarding support, study and education support, mentoring, training block coordination, work placement services, industry inclusion services, employee support services referrals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with female trainees/apprentices and their host employers on the Tiwi Islands to increase the likelihood of successful completion.
Work within the set procedures and guidelines of the TITEB Information Security Management System.
Undertake a range of administration and clerical tasks to record trainee/apprentice information accurately.
Build rapport and become the “go to” point when female trainees/apprentices or their employer need support or advice
Provide a high level of promotional information about the benefits of undertaking a traineeship/apprenticeship, to both potential host employers and to potential trainees/apprentices
Work as part of a small team and facilitate the knowledge Group Training Services better practice to local Field Officers and other Group Training staff.
Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and Tiwi Elders who can support female trainees/apprentices navigate challenges and cease opportunities.
Participate in professional development and where required represent the organisation at youth and group training related events.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
Demonstrated experience in successfully facilitating trainee/apprenticeship outcomes in a similar role.
An understanding of the benefits of traineeships and apprenticeships.
Be able to work within the GTO Standards and TITEB GTO Frameworks to record information about the client group.
Must have good IT skills, proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office), and the ability to operate office equipment (e.g., printers, scanners)
The ability to work within the TITEB Information Security Management Framework.
A high integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Be a team player and fostering positive working relationships contribute to a harmonious and efficient work environment.
Must have a current Ochre Card.
Must have a current NT Drivers licence.
Work in compliance with all laws, regulations, procedures and processes related to the role.

relevant qualifications
Experience in the remote Aboriginal environment and knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies and cultures will be very highly regarded.
