Speech Pathologist – Permanent Full-Time/Part-Time
Open to WHV / Sponsorship
Location: Flexible across Sydney
Salary: $80k - $120k + Super + Paid Travel

About the Organisation

This well-established private practice has been delivering high-quality care for over 19 years, focusing on improving the quality of life for adults with communication and swallowing needs. Unlike many providers, they offer a truly varied caseload beyond just NDIS clients, working across clinic, rehab hospitals, residential aged care, private hospitals, and community visits. The organisation prioritises support, flexibility, and a collaborative environment tailored to both clients and team members.
What They Offer

  • Flexible Work Locations – Work from the clinic, hospitals, or the community (close to home)
  • Tailored Caseloads – Designed around your interests and location, with options to focus on neuro, rehab, aged care, disability, or specific areas like swallowing or voice therapy.
  • No Billable Hours – Success is measured by client happiness, not revenue targets.
  • Strong Support System – Work alongside a senior Speech Pathologist with 20 years’ experience, a dedicated admin team to reduce paperwork, and a team of passionate colleagues.
  • Work-Life Balance – Flexible hours, including later starts or earlier finishes to accommodate personal needs. Ideally looking for 3-5 days, but open to 2-day arrangements.
  • Competitive Remuneration – Above-award salaries, paid travel, and superannuation.
  • Career Growth – Opportunities for supervision, student mentoring, and skill development tailored to your passions.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – Free counselling services for employees and their families.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration – Work alongside a diverse team but with a specialised focus on speech pathology.

The Role

The organisation is looking for Speech Pathologists at all career levels—senior, general, and early-career positions available. The role involves providing evidence-based interventions for adults across various settings, including rehab hospitals, aged care facilities, and home visits.
Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage communication and swallowing disorders in adult clients.
  • Deliver interventions in-person, through home visits, or via Telehealth.
  • Collaborate with families, support networks, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve client-centred goals.
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to team growth.
  • Maintain detailed client records and adhere to professional and NDIS standards.

Essential Criteria

  • A recognised degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience to ensure foundational skills are in place.
  • Current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle (for home visits).
  • COVID-19 and influenza immunisation as per government requirements.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with adults with communication and swallowing needs is preferred but not essential.
  • Recent graduates and early-career Speech Pathologists are encouraged to apply.

Why This Opportunity?

This is a unique opportunity to join a non-corporate, values-driven practice where success is measured by the impact on clients rather than financial KPIs. The organisation offers an incredibly supportive and flexible work environment, with caseloads built around clinician interests, reduced admin burdens, and strong professional development opportunities. Many team members have been with the practice for years, a testament to the fulfilling work and excellent support provided.
