About the opportunity
The Strategic Research Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the faculty's research activities by supporting pre-award initiatives for funding applications. This includes conducting reviews of application drafts, help ensure applications' compliance with funding guidelines, developing templates and writing guides, supporting workshops and funding information presentations, and collating key research data to strengthen funding proposals. The Strategic Research Coordinator also works to identify common challenges in grant applications and provides targeted recommendations to improve overall proposal quality. Working closely with the Senior Manager, Research Support, the Strategic Research Coordinator helps implement the faculty's support mechanisms designed to enhance researchers' success in securing grants. This role also facilitates collaboration among research teams and is required to maintain up-to-date knowledge of funding opportunities and trends. Additionally, this role involves delivering training for team members as needed, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to effectively assist researchers throughout the grant application process.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- respond to inquiries for FMH research information and support
- advise researchers on guidelines, policies, and regulations
- contribute to continuous improvement in research support across the faculty
- contribute to research support workshops and programs
About You
- a graduate degree in a relevant field
- relevant experience in a research environment
- capable in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
- experienced Microsoft Office Suite and Sharepoint
- have excellent written and verbal communications skills preferably with experience in supporting grant applications
