THE OPPORTUNITY
Salary: $78,564 - $111,391 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.
Location: Glen Waverley campus, onsite parking and close proximity to public transport.
Position Status: Fixed Term Contract of employment until 31 December 2025.
As a key member of our teaching team, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the student experience through the delivery of engaging, high-quality education and training. Working in alignment with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (2015), Training Package requirements, Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS), Holmesglen procedures, and relevant contractual or funding frameworks, you’ll help guide learners through every stage of their journey — from initial course enquiries to meaningful learning outcomes.
This is a hands-on and rewarding role where you’ll design and deliver training that inspires, using a variety of innovative teaching and assessment methods tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. You'll also take the lead in developing learning resources and assessment tools that support excellence in delivery. By building strong connections with industry and key stakeholders, you'll ensure our programs remain relevant and impactful. Your collaborative approach and commitment to outstanding student support will also see you actively involved in course coordination and departmental initiatives that contribute to the success of both students and the wider faculty.
Due to the nature of the position, there may be a requirement to accommodate flexible working hours and attendance requirements.
ABOUT YOU
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE 40122 or equivalent predecessor or successor qualifications.
- A Certificate IV in Outdoor Leadership (or equivalent) and a Current First Aid Certificate.
- A minimum 3 years’ industry experience in vocational teaching area ie: Outdoor Leadership/ Recreation.
- Prior experience in delivering the Outdoor Leadership Training Package, including designing, planning, and managing engaging and educational outdoor programs.
- Demonstrated practical knowledge of outdoor leadership and teamwork, including instructing specific outdoor activities, implementing safety practices, managing risks, and responding effectively to emergencies.
- Skilled in quickly identifying and addressing challenges during outdoor trips, providing practical solutions to maintain safety and support learning outcomes.
- Experienced in organising and coordinating logistical aspects of outdoor programs, including transportation, accommodation, and scheduling for seamless delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive, healthy, and safe learning environment that encourages student participation, promotes autonomy, and supports the development of independent learning strategies. Competent in using learner-centred approaches to create a respectful space where students feel supported to take ownership of their learning.
