The Role:

As a Halal Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of hot and cold food items, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook hot and cold food items responsibly.
• Follow menu specifications and recipes diligently, checking for quality and presentation.
• Adhere to strict compliance and quality control protocols, completing required documentation.
• Produce and portion items according to specific control specifications while minimizing food wastage.
• Maintain clean and tidy work areas, including food preparation surfaces and utensils.
• Uphold a high level of personal hygiene and cleanliness, in line with the organization’s requirements.

Selection Criteria:

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery.
• Excellent knife Skills
• Previous experience in a large commercial kitchen is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of HACCP and other food safety measures.
• Ability to understand and adhere to specifications and recipes is essential.
• Capability to work under pressure in a high-volume production team environment.
• Availability for seven-day rotating rosters is essential.
• Full Australian Working Rights.
