About us:
Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) is responsible for the delivery of health service to Prisoner in the Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC) and Capricornia Correctional Farm (CCF) including workcamps. COHS provides a health service to a fluctuating population of approximately 1200 male prisoners within CCC and CCF.
The needs of this client group vary widely and the COHS requires a flexible system that responds to urgent/non-urgent, complex, planned chronic care and preventative health needs. Prisoners can access appropriate primary care and emergency care equivalent to standard of that of the general community. COHS currently operates from a primary health care model of service delivery, with a multidisciplinary team, from the time the Prisoner enters the system, through transfers to other facilities, and to their release into the community.
About the role:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) for Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM)/Nursing Director (ND), Senior Medical Officer (SMO) and wider CQHHS program team to support the Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) in provision of safe quality healthcare to Prisoner clients through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of primary care including care of people with long-term conditions and/or emergency care.
Nurse Practitioners will have 20% of their rostered hours allocated away from direct clinical duties to support them to work to their full scope of practice.
About you:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Nurse Practitioner (NP). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervision/manager prior to the commencement of employment.
- A demonstrated practice scope in, or completion of, or willingness to complete Opioid Dependence Treatment and Hep C prescriber course/s will be highly regarded.
- Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Nurse Practitioner Master's level qualification and NMBA endorsement to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is mandatory.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $177,797 is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $ 75.27 - $78.59 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
