Mental Health Support Worker

Location: North Brisbane (Chermside, Redcliffe), South Brisbane (Sunnybank hills)
Employment Type: Casual
Pay: $35-$40

About the Role

We are looking for passionate and reliable Mental Health Support Workers to provide high-quality support to individuals living with psychosocial disabilities and complex mental health needs.

In this role, you'll support NDIS participants to build independence, develop daily living skills, and engage meaningfully in the community. You’ll play a key role in empowering clients on their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and group-based mental health support

Assist with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and self-care

Support with medication prompts and attending appointments

Encourage community participation and social inclusion

Follow participant care plans and behaviour support strategies

Accurately document progress notes and observations

Promote a safe and positive environment at all times

Requirements

Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or related field (preferred)

Experience supporting people with complex mental health needs

Current First Aid & CPR

NDIS Worker Screening Check / Yellow Card

Police Check (issued within 12 months)

Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with insurance

Strong communication and de-escalation skills

Understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice
