Aboriginal Health Practitioner Full Time Position

Location: Carnarvon WA

The Geraldton Regional Aboriginal Medical Service is seeking to employ an experienced Aboriginal Health Practitioner at the Carnarvon Clinic.

The Aboriginal Health Practitioner is accountable to the Practice Manager and is responsible for provision of culturally safe community care and assistance to Aboriginal people in the Geraldton Area. This role requires the applicant to be able to assist with triage for GPs and accurately document patient records. Successful applicants will be required to meet the following:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA,

· The ability to provide basic health care and education to patients.

· Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Demonstrated written, verbal communication skills and high attention to detail.

· High level of interpersonal and teamwork skills, with ability to create supportive workplace for all staff.

· Have an unrestricted “C” class drivers license and the ability to pass a Police Clearance and Drug and Alcohol testing.

DESIRABLE

· Previous experience working with the Indigenous community is desirable.
