Responsibilities:
- Safely transport guests on our vessels and buses between Thursday Island, Horn Island, Hammond Island and nearby, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable journey.
- Assist with boarding and disembarking passengers, providing excellent customer service and ensuring their safety throughout the journey.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the vessels and buses to create a pleasant environment for our guests.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance, such as checking the fuel, oil, and water levels, to ensure smooth operation of the vehicles.
- Act as a deckhand on our ferries, assisting with passenger boarding, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and providing any necessary support.
- Participate in training sessions as required to enhance your skills and knowledge in bus driving and deckhand duties.
- Communicate effectively with the crew, management, and fellow team members to ensure seamless coordination during transfers.
- Display a friendly and professional attitude, representing Torres Strait Tours as an ambassador of quality service.

Requirements:
- Valid driver's license (appropriate for the class of bus to be driven; - MR), and a Qld Drivers Authorisation (we can assist in obtaining DA) up to Taxi / Booked Hire Service with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in bus driving, with a focus on passenger safety and comfort.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with passengers and team members effectively.
- Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and efficiently, ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our guests at all times.
- Physically fit with the ability to perform the necessary tasks, including assisting passengers, lifting moderate loads, and standing for extended periods.
- A proactive and positive approach to work, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for our guests.
