Property Network of Australia is seeking a Property Officer to join a Sydney based property services business to take on a newly created and varied role, based in Canberra. This is a 3-4 day position and will suit someone with an underlying exposure and interest in commercial property and experience across the AP/AR and administration functions of a property portfolio.
Working alongside a Property Manager, this role involves ensuring client property accounts are prepared and verified to agreed standards, while providing crucial financial and office administration support. You will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with critical dates, policies, and procedures while assisting tenants and contractors with portfolio-related queries.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the Property Manager with property administration tasks and liaise with contractors on maintenance and facilities-related activities.
- Process high-volume accounts payable invoices, including raising purchase orders and coding in MRI.
- Liaise with Property Managers to process bi-monthly owner remittances.
- Oversee month-end close-off, including reviewing open POs, making manual adjustments, and providing variance commentary.
- Oversee vendor management processes in MRI, including creation and modification of vendor accounts.
- Monitor and update tenant Public Liability insurance records.
- Coordinate recharging of direct expenses to tenants and assist with annual property budgets.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in accounts administration within the commercial property sector.
- Proficiency in real estate accounting systems such as MRI or Cirrus8.
- Strong ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently.
- Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to track outstanding tasks.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
