ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Water and Wastewater Senior Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of Council's water and wastewater services. by overseeing the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and associated infrastructure.

Key responsibilities will include:
Operate and maintain the water and wastewater treatment plants and water and wastewater pump stations e.g. valves and pumps, chemical usage, clarification, biological treatment and disinfection.
Ensure chemical dosing is undertaken in an efficient and effective manner to meet plant processing and effluent quality requirements and the use, handling and storage of chemicals is in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Collect samples, conduct relevant laboratory tests, take water industry measurements and perform numerical calculations and maintain records of same.
Identify faults and operational condition of plant and report in accordance with statutory requirements
Monitor SCADA and Telemetry system alarms.
Safely operate and maintain a variety of commercial plant, equipment and tools relevant to the work area.
Maintain work sites, depots, plant and equipment in a clean and safe condition.
Participate in the on-call roster and attend call outs as required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Current unrestricted ‘C’ class drivers licence.
Possess a Work Safe in the Construction Industry Induction Certificate (White Card).
Certificate III relevant to the Water and Wastewater Industry.
Traffic Management Implementation Program licence.
Working in Confined Spaces competency.
Working at Heights competency

The North Burnett Regional Council is established as a body corporate under the Local Government Act 2009
The Council came into existence on the 15 March, 2008 following the Queensland local government reform process which resulted in the amalgamation of 6 Shires – Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Gayndah, Perry and Biggenden , into the new North Burnett Regional Council.
The elected Council is the law making body and consists of the Mayor and 6 Councillors. The administration of Council is headed by the Chief Executive Officer.
