About the Role
The National Parks and Wildlife Service is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our close-knit, high-performing team responsible for the operations and maintenance of water and wastewater systems across the resorts of Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Blue Cow, Guthega, and Sawpit Creek. As part of the Perisher Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring a clean and reliable drinking water supply, as well as effective wastewater treatment across these key resort areas.
In this role, you will assist in the management of water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring its efficiency and compliance with legislative and statutory requirements. You will also implement water quality, sewage effluent, and water management controls to ensure compliance with licensing and statutory requirements, and maintain the reliability of services for customers.
Working alongside a supportive team, you will maintain and repair assets, monitor processes and alarms, and attend to emergency repairs when needed, all while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
About You
Your passion for environmental sustainability and strong commitment to maintaining vital infrastructure, combined with your attention to detail and hands-on approach, will be key to your success in this role. You bring experience in operating and maintaining water and wastewater systems, demonstrating a solid understanding of the regulatory requirements and best practices in water quality and wastewater management.
Your ability to work collaboratively within a team, respond promptly to issues, and proactively manage repairs and maintenance will ensure that resort areas continue to receive reliable and efficient services.

Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in water industry operations or demonstrated experience and knowledge of the operations and maintenance of activated sludge treatment processes, water supply reticulation and disinfection.
- Demonstrated safe working practices including experience in safe work in confined spaces.
- A current Australian driver’s licence, and willingness to operate and use oversnow transport.
- Willingness to be on-call and responding to emergency operational situations.
