Up to 16.5% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading, 9 day fortnights, RDOs, flexible working arrangements on case by case basis

An opportunity has arisen to join the Team here and put your financial knowledge and acumen into action. From within our Local Government organisation, your input will be vital to ensure ongoing successful operations of our Waste Management sites, including the Red Hill Waste Management Facility, Hazelmere Resource Recovery Park and multiple Transfer Stations which perform a vital waste management and resource recovery role within the community. Sitting within the Business Support Team and reporting to the Manager Finance, this position is a key role within a highly functioning and supportive Team.

To be successful in this position you will require

A Bachelor of Commerce (or similar) with a major in Accounting or other comparable work history;

Experience in interpreting and applying, Australian Accounting Standards;

Well developed knowledge of computerised financial systems;

Well developed analytical and report writing skills, including the ability to develop strategies and recommendations;

Highly developed organisational skills with the proven ability to prioritise competing demands and achieve deadlines;

High level of proficiency with MS office suite of applications;

Desirable is knowledge of the Local Government Act 1995 and Local Government (Financial Regulations) 1996, but is not mandatory.

Work performed would include managing and producing accounting reports, assisting with budget reviews, product profitability and pricing analysis studies, utilising SynergySoft software for data extraction, liaising with auditors and external contractors as required.
