Secure Fire Protection is expanding, and we are seeking a confident, accredited Fire Safety Assessor (FSA) to join our compliance team. With a strong client portfolio spanning strata, commercial, and industrial sectors, this role offers the opportunity to step into a technically rewarding position, supported by robust systems, dedicated administrative support, and a progressive leadership team. Key Responsibilities
Prepare comprehensive, accurate, and actionable reports following all inspections and assessments, ensuring findings are thoroughly documented and communicated.
Conduct detailed fire risk assessments across a variety of building types, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
Provide expert advice to clients on industry best practice, delivering tailored recommendations to improve fire safety measures and ensure compliance.
Promote fire safety awareness throughout the organisation, delivering training sessions or presentations as required.
Assist in the development and implementation of fire safety strategies to achieve full compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the compliance team in the preparation of Compliance Reports.
Support ongoing fire safety projects and work closely with the testing team to achieve optimal compliance outcomes.
Ensure all testing, surveys, and performance assessments of essential fire safety measures at allocated sites are conducted in strict accordance with AS 1851, the latest FPA Australia Good Practice Guides, the Environmental Planning and Assessment (Development Certification and Fire Safety) Regulation 2021, and all other relevant Australian Standards and codes.
Requirements
Current accreditation as a Fire Practitioner on the FPAA-managed FSA register, with endorsement for all essential fire safety measures.
Comprehensive knowledge of fire safety legislation, Australian Standards, BCA/NCC codes, and best practice methodologies.
Demonstrated experience in conducting fire risk assessments and providing fire safety advice across multiple sectors.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational and time management abilities, with exceptional attention to detail.
Experience with Uptick is desirable; however, training will be provided for the right candidate.
