About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Building Surveyor - Restricted (Class 1 and 10 buildings) to join the team at Terry West Building Approvals and Consultants Pty Ltd, a leading provider of building consultancy services in the Castle Hill, for a one year contract.

As a Building Surveyor - Restricted (Class 1 and 10 buildings), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of residential and ancillary buildings. This full-time position offers the chance to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to the growth and success of the business.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting thorough inspections of Class 1 and 10 buildings to assess compliance with relevant building codes and regulations
• Reviewing building plans and documentation to ensure they meet all necessary standards and requirements
• Providing detailed reports and recommendations to clients on identified issues and solutions
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and local authorities to ensure smooth project completion
• Staying up-to-date with changes in building regulations and industry best practices
• Assisting the team with other building consultancy tasks as required

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification in Building Surveying or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
• Comprehensive knowledge of the National Construction Code and other relevant building regulations
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve compliance issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders
• A methodical and organised approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel to project sites as required
