Intextec is a young, successful, fast growing (19% growth this year) company that sells parts, consumables and equipment into gaming and casino venues, point of sale retail chain operations and various other industries across Australia. Our competitive advantage comes from the real economies our Inventory and Supply Team have developed, building deep partnerships with suppliers, sourcing parts from all around the globe. Our customers rely on our breadth of partnerships and our depth of knowledge to source and supply not only regular stock lines but also obscure and hard-to-find parts. We also operate a highly skilled technical repair centre team for our customers, providing a range of repairs from simple fixes all the way up to complex PCB component-level repairs. We can repair the jobs that most other teams need to outsource.

The Position

A fun and rewarding position for a Technical Sales Representative has become available in our Rowville office. Rotating through an ongoing call cycle to our existing customers, you will make outbound calls each day, maintaining connections, filtering for order opportunities, sharing technical expertise and knowledge, following up leads and requests, and liaising closely with our inventory and warehouse team to ensure timely and effective delivery. You will also work with our marketing team to support monthly promotions, such as clearances for parts or services we offer. Plus occasional travel interstate and overseas (USA and Asia) will be offered to attend various trade shows.

Career development and a future promotion opportunity will also be available for the right candidate to grow into a full Business Development Management role, sourcing international and local partnerships and contracts.

The Suitable Candidate

You will be fluent talking about electronics, but may come from a range of backgrounds. For example if you understand and can speak to the parts of a PC, ideally down to component level, you will be well on your way. That said, preference will be given to candidates with a professional background in a particular electronics specialty area.

Just as important as your technical knowledge, will be your selling and relationship building aptitude. Your strong EQ will make you a great listener, a discerner of opportunities, someone who asks a lot of questions patiently, and someone who understands the tangible value of real connection and friendly business relationships. You will know when to close, and when to back off. When to barter for a margin, and when to support your customer. Last of all, chasing sales goals (of course we have KPIs!) will be fun and motivating for you, and not feel daunting.

Last of all, we hope you will have a light touch, and a sense of humour and humility. We are very ambitious and quite hard working, but we don’t want to take ourselves too seriously.

Remuneration

We are offering a strong base salary, supported by a solid bonus structure. The role will also include, from time to time, travel to trade shows in Sydney and Brisbane as well as the USA and Asia.

To be successful in this role you will have:

At least 2 years in a technical sales role

An appetite to close sales and grow relationships

Excellent verbal and written skills, complimented by high attention to detail

Professionalism and amiable demeanour, with strong time management skills

Team oriented thinking, flexible approach and ability to show initiative
