About the role:
The role of the GIS officer is to support both internal and external parties in relation to mapping inquiries, and to act in a consultancy capacity to provide advice to teams across the organisation in matters relating to Geographical and Land Information Systems and data.
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Geographic Information System (GIS) Officer to join the Corporate Strategy and Insights Section.
In this role, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
• Investigating and developing the Geographical and Land Information Systems to assist in the delivery of Council’s services and functions.
• The administration, maintenance, analysis and presentation of data in Council’s Geographical and Land Information Systems.
• The coordination and processing of proposals for the naming of roads, suburbs and reserves.
• Allocating new property addresses and maintaining existing property address data.
The successful candidate will not only be technically skilled but also have a strong customer focus and attention to detail. Strong knowledge of INFOR Pathway Property Module particularly, as well as QGIS and IntraMaps would be an advantage.

The successful candidates will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
• Tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to Geographical/Land Information Systems and/or equivalent experience.
• A high level of professionalism and a strong customer focus.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary Geographical/Land Information System technologies and techniques.
• Experience in the management, manipulation, analysis and presentation of spatial data.
• Demonstrated experience in producing high quality cartographic maps.
