About the opportunity
This position will focus on the delivery of high-quality medical education, including teaching anatomy to medical and biomedicine students. Our program utilises dissection-based teaching and blended online learning modalities. This position will support the supply of a skilled medical workforce to Tasmania, who have a strong foundation in the Australian Medical Council Domain of Science and Scholarship.
The appointee will report to the Foundation Years Director within the Medicine Program and will work with a team of academic staff to deliver medical education in Hobart, Tasmania with a focus on alignment with the School of Medicine and the University of Tasmania’s goals of making significant socially accountable contributions to the health and wellbeing of the Tasmanian community.
What you’ll do:
- Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
- Undertake scholarly undergraduate coursework teaching of a high quality.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, industry and/or wider community.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What we’re looking for:
- A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Experience in University-level or other post-secondary educational setting
- A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, and wider community.
- Professional experience relevant to the position.
- Expertise in tertiary level anatomy teaching, including cadaveric dissection and innovative use of online learning tools
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively in a diverse team of academics and professional staff, and across regional campuses
Salary details
Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $150,759 comprising base salary within the range of $110,992 to $128,854 plus 17% superannuation.
