Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre, Hervey Bay, QLD (50m Olympic Heated Pool and 25m Indoor Heated Pool)
About Us:
Hervey Bay Swimming Club is located in a beautiful regional area experiencing significant growth. We offer a fantastic lifestyle on the Fraser Coast in Hervey Bay. Our program currently Tuesday to Friday includes morning sessions from 5:30am to 7:30am and afternoon sessions from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. We aim to expand our program to include additional elements of training including strength and conditioning, based on the candidate's qualifications. Our club serves swimmers aged 8 years to young adults, as well as Masters and recreational swimmers.
Role Description:
Coaching, training, and instructing squad swimmers through ongoing observation and analysis to enhance their competitive performance.
Delivering a swimming program for participants, from post-learn-to-swim through to competitive squads (state & national level swimmers).
Keeping accurate records of training attendance and performance.
Coaching and supervising dry land sessions.
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment with regular constructive feedback to swimmers and parents.
Providing motivation and fitness advice while passionately mentoring swimmers.
A commitment to providing a high level of customer service and communication skills.
Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
Promoting the Hervey Bay Swimming Club to increase participation in competitions and grow membership.
Collaborating with the committee on necessary equipment and support ideas.
Undertaking continual professional development to enhance coaching skills.
Attending internal club nights, carnivals, and liaising with committee, parents, and officials as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Development Coach (minimum qualification)
Competitive swimming background, advanced or performance (desired but not essential)
Ability to deliver, monitor, and review comprehensive coaching programs for various ages and skill levels
ASCA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning or equivalent (desirable)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team
High level of professionalism, time management, and reliability
Additional qualifications that are relevant to the swimming or sports industry would be highly desirable
Requirements:
ABN (Australian Business Number)
QLD working with Children Check (Blue Card)
National Police Check
A current first aid certificate including CPR
A current Australian Residential Address
A current driver's license
