We are on the lookout for a passionate and dedicated Chef Manager who takes pride in delivering high-quality food and service. This is a unique opportunity to step into a dual role where you'll be responsible not only for food service but also for the overall village management of a small camp.

Small Camp

Previous experience as a Chef Manager is essential

FIFO experience required

This is an ideal opportunity for a skilled chef with strong culinary expertise who is looking to grow their career and transition into village management. You’ll be hands-on in the kitchen while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of the camp — a perfect steppingstone for someone ready to take the next step in their career.

The Role

Maintain effective client and business relationships

Responsible for stock control, budgets, rostering, mentoring & training staff

Buffet style bulk cooking

Ensure OH&S compliance, adhering to safe work practices and food handling procedures

Ensure all catering controls are in place, and wastage is kept to a minimum

Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, infection control and cleanliness in accordance with Compass standards

Essential Criteria

Chef Qualifications / Cert III in Commercial Cookery

Experience within bulk catering environments

Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations

Experience in menu writing, rostering and cost control

Experience with hygienic work practices and appropriate HACCP guidelines

Current valid Driver's License

Current National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain one)
