Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst (BA) with a strong background in infrastructure, on-premises environments, and technology assurance controls. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap be tween business requirements and IT infrastructure, ensuring legacy applications running on infrastructure (on-prem environments) meet security, compliance, and operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to define and document business and technical requirements for infrastructure solutions (on prem)
• Evaluate current infrastructure setups, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure infrastructure and applications comply with regulatory, security, and technology assurance frameworks.
• Collaborate with compliance teams to assess risks and implement necessary controls.
• Assist in the optimization and standardization of on-prem infrastructure setups.
• Work with application teams to ensure infrastructure can support critical business applications like Puppet other automation/configuration management tools.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions to enhance reliability.
• Ensure best practices for deploying, managing, and monitoring applications that sit on infrastructure.
• Act as a liaison between business units, IT, and infrastructure teams to align technology solutions with business objectives.
• Translate complex infrastructure concepts into business-friendly language.
• Support infrastructure-related projects by creating detailed business cases, functional specifications, and process documentation. Track and report on project progress, risks, and dependencies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years as a Business Analyst with a focus on IT infrastructure programs
• Excellent core business analysis skills including SDLC
• Prior experience within telecommunications, banking or the public sector would be highly regarded
• Strong technical knowledge including understanding of on-prem infrastructure, legacy systems and wider enterprise IT environments.
• Knowledge of IT governance, risk, compliance, and assurance controls
• Prior controls uplift experience within operational risk frameworks
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess complex technical environments and provide clear recommendations.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and automation tools (advantageous)
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation abilities.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, ITIL, TOGAF) are a plus.
