About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity within our Asset Data and GIS Team for an Asset Data and GIS Officer. This role sits within the Strategic Growth and Advocacy Directorate and involves working across all asset types and supporting the team in capturing, creating, loading, maintaining, monitoring, and reviewing all asset and GIS data in relevant systems. You will ensure that all data remains current and complies with Council's latest policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of data and databases in the Asset Management System (AMS) and Geographic Information System (GIS).
  • Create, load and manage data and spatial data for all of Council's physical assets within the AMS and GIS including ensuring the existing data is reviewed to detect inaccurate, incomplete or incorrect data.
  • Support the facilitation of the AMS and GIS to enhance functionality and expand corporate use.
  • Undertaking supportive tasks in the creation of councils Data Hub
  • Assist the Team Leader Asset Data and GIS and Coordinator Asset Management and Service Delivery to implement policies, standards and work procedures.


About You

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and technical knowledge, including GIS, QGIS, spatial data management and FME (or similar product). A proactive, solution-oriented team player with previous experience in asset management and GIS systems is essential.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.
