Pharmavet is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Production Supervisor who is responsible for all the production (packaging) aspects of the company. Starts, operates, tends, stops, and cleans machines. Inspects product to ensure high quality. Responsible for overseeing packaging of product, and assistance with warehousing duties. Ensuring that the GMP codes are being adhered to within the production team. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

This is a permanent and full-time role based in Carole Park.

Key Accountabilities

Production & Operations Management

  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for efficiency and compliance.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Monitor and allocate resources effectively to meet packing and production schedules.
  • Work closely with relevant teams to implement production plans and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the team to track production progress and resolve any issues.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Maintain strict compliance with OH&S and quality assurance standards.
  • Conduct site inductions and enforce safe work practices at all times.
  • Ensure products are packed and stored in accordance with QA guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the QA team to issue BOM kits to the packing team.
  • Oversee sampling processes, ensuring accurate sample collection and preparation for testing.
  • Troubleshoot out-of-spec materials and provide coaching to the team for resolution.
  • Check and verify paperwork for compliance, investigating and resolving any issues with the Manager and QA team.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Recruit, train, and supervise personnel to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Conduct competency assessments, complete necessary documentation, and facilitate training and cross-training.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure staff adhere to operational and safety protocols.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

  • Manage warehouse and inventory transfers efficiently.
  • Ensure timely coordination of packing materials for upcoming jobs by liaising with management.
  • Receive and inspect materials, updating QA and production teams accordingly.
  • Transfer finished products to the warehouse under the guidance of the QA and Operations Manager.

Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain regular communication with management regarding production updates, challenges, and forward planning.
  • Provide end-of-day updates to the Manager on operational progress.
  • Update and maintain spreadsheets, registers, and production records.

Equipment & Machinery Management

  • Set up and troubleshoot machinery as required to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Operate a forklift when necessary.

General Support & Other Duties

  • Assist the QA team and management as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support the smooth functioning of the packing department.

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical/Food industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Hands-on experience with production processes and techniques.
  • Knowledge of packaging materials and raw material handling.
  • Understanding of quality assurance systems and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance.
  • Practical knowledge of machinery, tools, and troubleshooting.
