An exciting opportunity exists to join our Team Member Roads in Tumut.

Primary Purpose
Contribute to the operational needs of the council by applying multi-skilled civil labouring and plant operation skills.

Key components of this position will include:
1. Deliver operations of heavy plant, including rollers, trucks, water carts and loaders, to meet agreed service levels.
2. Deliver multi-skilled civil construction and maintenance works to meet agreed service levels.
3. Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.

Have you also the following:
1. 1. Contemporary experience in the construction and/or maintenance of civil structures.
2. Contemporary experience in the operation of civil plant on worksites (e.g. rollers, water carts, trucks or loaders).
3. Demonstrated ability to work safely in a heavy labouring environment.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
5. Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
6. Class MR drivers’ licence.
7. Traffic Control Tickets – ‘Traffic Controller’ and ‘Implement Traffic Control Plans’.
8. Ability to work overtime and some weekend work when required.

and or
1. Class HR and or HC drivers’ licence.
2. Training in preparation, handling and working with bitumen / emulsion products.
3. Skills in concreting, laying pavers, culverts, tiling and/or brick work.
4. Experience in the operation of additional plant in a civil environment (e.g. graders or excavators).
