About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading ASX-listed real estate investment trust (REIT), is seeking a Property Accountant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a diverse commercial property portfolio while working closely with senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Accounting & Reporting – Prepare monthly reports, reconciliations, and variance analysis for a portfolio of commercial properties.
• Budgeting & Forecasting – Assist in annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting, collaborating with asset and finance teams to ensure accurate projections.
• Lease Accounting & Revenue Recognition – Maintain lease data, ensure correct rent escalations, and account for revenue under AASB 16.
• Statutory Compliance – Support the preparation of BAS, GST, and other tax obligations in line with regulatory requirements.
• Business Partnering – Work closely with asset and property managers as well as key stakeholders to provide financial insights that drive decision-making.

About You
You are an analytical and commercially minded accountant with a strong foundation in financial reporting and a keen interest in the property sector. You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy contributing to the financial success of a property portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, ideally within property, real estate, or funds management
• Strong understanding of AASB 16, lease accounting, and property-related financial reporting
• Proficiency in Yardi (highly desirable) and advanced Excel skills
• High attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving
