SHEQ Project Director - Adelaide South Australia
Our client offer facilities management solutions to a broad range of sectors throughout Australia and New Zealand and currently have a permanent position available for a SHEQ Project Director based in Adelaide.
Position Summary
The SHEQ Project Director is a key team member of the contract Senior Leadership Team and the key leader SHEQ function in partnering and promoting a positive and elevated approach to the safety, health, environment and quality functions across the project.
The role will be responsible for providing leadership, advice and support for SHEQ operational excellence and quality assurance matters. This role is also responsible for the implementation, monitoring and governance of Group and Sector SHEQ strategy and programs. The SHEQ Project Director role is responsible to manage and develop the SHEQ team and deliver all SHEQ team objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, guide and mentor project SHEQ team
Provide expert advise & practical solutions supporting project-based personnel for the effective implementation of the management systems
Manage and foster all internal and external relationships
Develop and implement a SHEQ program to elevate standards with subcontractors
Manage and assist with implementation of SHEQ management plans across the project
Adhere to legislation, regulations and standards and ensure all activities on the project are undertaken in a safe manner, and with the application of suitable frameworks and documentation
Provide SHEQ guidance and support to the Operations team to ensure enhanced sustainability and a safe workplace with zero impact on the environment
Manage the safety management system database and reporting
Implementing processes to ensure communication and compliance with all SHEQ policies and procedures including fostering a culture of ‘safety and health above all else’
Escalate and undertake investigations and review in relation to SHEQ related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team
Partner and engage with SHEQ Business Manager where appropriate
Ensure robust risk assessments, SWMS, management plans and risk registers are maintained
Monitor and manage operational activities regarding SHEQ requirements and functions
Manage the development and delivery of safety related training
Ensure project readiness for internal and external audits
Manage, maintain and report on Project’s Objectives & Targets
Manage and maintain licencing and legal registers for project
About You:
Tertiary Qualifications in Workplace/Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental or Quality
Incident Reporting - ICAM
Several years' experience as a Safety Leader in construction and possess the technical skills & knowledge to perform at this level
Possess excellent Leadership skills
Ability to build and maintain a positive team culture
Ability to implement and manage a collaborative workplace culture
Have worked within a similar role
Police clearance and working with children
