The opportunity

An exciting opportunity is currently available for an engaging, dynamic and organised Exercise Physiologist to join our EP team.

This role will provide you with the chance to use your clinical skills and knowledge base as a therapist across the spectrum of neurological clinical areas.

Work alongside, absorb and impart knowledge, formally and informally, with your new colleagues. We have a highly experienced clinical team who work across specialised exercise equipment prescription; wheelchair skills training; community integration and return to sport, recreation and swimming; adaptive cycling; delivery of group exercise classes; pilates classes; and more.

Steps also runs a quality improvement program that ensures all current evidence, and new and emerging technology are adopted appropriately in our workplace. Steps is committed to continuing to explore new ways we can build on our client experience, and get better outcomes.

The position is full-time (38 hours per week).

Responsibilities

Independently manage a diverse case load of TBI, SCI, neuro-muscular disorders, and other neurological presentations

Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary treatment team, clients and their communities

Conduct initial assessments, develop and implement best practice, evidence based Exercise Physiology treatment plans

Deliver person centered exercise interventions

Goal planning and outcome measurement with all clients

Participate in in-house and external professional development

Clinical documentation and report writing for funding body including NDIS, TAC, WorkCover and MS Limited

Contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Requirements

Unrestricted Australian working rights

Current ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist registration

Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an exercise physiologist, with exposure across multiple neurological populations

Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment

Supportive, positive mindset

Experience working with funding bodies such as TAC and NDIS (desirable)

Drivers licence and access to a vehicle suitable for work purposes.
