Purchasing and Inventory Controller
This unique role involves working in our warehousing facility managing the inventory in our stores and the team that picks, packs, counts and manages our goods. You will help buy and manage new stock and refurbished fire safety equipment that has been utilised by FRV's operational teams who are working in the community providing emergency services.
Your responsibilities include the management of the day to day inventory; receivables and despatch of a vast number and varoety of critical products for FRV services. You are warehouse trained and are ready to combine those skills with well-developed people and administrative skills. You are adept at using various systems ranging from the likes of SAP to purpose built systems – what you don’t already know you are keen to learn.

About the Role
The primary purpose of the Purchasing and Inventory Controller is to manage the FES Store, being accountable for the timely and cost-effective procurement and dispatch of specialist parts and equipment used in the operation of FES and sold to FES customers.
The position negotiates with vendors on supply and service, researching and evaluating new products and ensuring appropriate inventory management controls are in place.
The position supports the FES Workshops and enables the FES Technicians to deliver excellent customer service.
Functional Accountabilities:
Sound working knowledge and extensive background in purchasing skills procurement and inventory management including negotiating with suppliers
Experience in managing a procurement or workshop environment is desirable
Experience in supervising staff is desirable
Knowledge of continuous improvement practices
Experience in the fire protection industry is desirable
What you will need to Succeed:
As a results driven professional, you are highly organised and your experience should include;
Completion of an appropriate Certificate in administration or VCE (essential)
Current/Unrestricted Victorian Drivers License (essential). Medium Rigid Drivers License (essential)
Fork-lift License (essential)
Member of Charted Institute of Purchasing & Supply Australia (CIPSA) (desirable)
A working understanding of the MS-Office product suite and intermediate computer skills
Knowledge and an understanding of Essential Services Legislation and requirements
