About the role
Are you someone who has outstanding clerical and customer service skills? The Central Allocations Unit (CAU) is excited to invite applications for Ward Clerk's to join our casual team!
Successful applicants will have an opportunity to work across our Acute, Sub-Acute and Aged Care Communities at Grampians Health Ballarat.
You will have an essential role in welcoming patients, visitors, medical staff and unit staff while providing reception, clerical and administrative support to the unit.
Your well-developed customer service and interpersonal skills will allow you to adjust quickly and work effectively as part of any team that you are placed in. You will be excellent with your time management and organisation skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of your work.
Ward Clerk hours range from 7.00am - 9.00pm and may include weekend work. Applicants must have the availability to work across a variety of shift times. To maintain your position with CAU, a commitment of 2 shifts per week is required.
Shifts can be offered within short time frames, therefore, to be considered for this role you must be living in the Ballarat region.
You will be required to provide 2 referees that are direct managers / supervisors (including the manager from your current employer).

You will make an impact by
- Providing professional reception duties
- Providing a high standard of administrative support
- Accurate data entry
- Admission and discharges of patients and residents
- Participation in an annual performance review
- Commitment to ongoing mandatory education
- Maintaining accurate availability in our electronic rostering system and accepting shifts based on availability
- Flexibility to work across a variety of locations and shift times
Skills and experience
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within a team environment
- Strong computer skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records.
- Demonstrated person-centred care and respectful approach to patients, visitors and staff
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks
- Prior experience in a health care setting would be advantageous but is not essential
- Current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
