About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Travel Consultant with a passion for Africa to join our team at This is Africa. This is a full-time position based in our Randwick, NSW office. As a Travel Consultant African Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and curating bespoke travel experiences to Africa and the islands off the African continent.

What you'll be doing:

Consulting with clients and agents to understand their travel preferences and create tailored itineraries for travel to Africa

Researching and booking flights, accommodation, tours, and other travel arrangements

Providing expert advice on destinations, activities, and cultural experiences in Africa

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of travel regulations, visa requirements, and safety information

Collaborating with the wider team to identify and promote new African travel opportunities

Providing exceptional customer service and responding to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner

What we're looking for

Must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency

Must have worked as a wholesale or retail travel consultant specialising in Africa for a minimum of one year

Extensive knowledge of African travel destinations and attractions

Must have travelled to:

South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to understand and meet the needs of diverse clients

Extensive knowledge of African travel destinations, including popular and off-the-beaten-path locations

Proficiency in researching and booking complex travel arrangements, including flights, accommodation, and activities

Strong customer service skills with a very strong command of the English language both verbal and written

Extensive reservations expertise

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively

Detail-oriented and organized approach to work

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel and Publisher

Good knowledge of Galileo

Must have worked with Tour Plan NX Reservation System

A passion for travel and a desire to share your knowledge and expertise with others
