The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Townsville team to lead and deliver major infrastructure and civil engineering projects throughout North Queensland. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple medium to large-scale civil infrastructure projects

Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets

Manage project resources, including staff, consultants, and contractors

Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities

Identify and mitigate project risks and implement effective solutions

Monitor project progress and performance, providing regular status reports

Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards

Manage contract administration, variations, and dispute resolution

Foster strong client relationships and identify new business opportunities

Lead and mentor project team members to achieve project objectives

Essential Requirements

Minimum 8+ years' experience managing civil infrastructure or construction projects

Proven track record of successful project delivery in North Queensland

Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices

Excellent knowledge of construction processes, standards, and regulations

Demonstrated experience in contract management and administration

Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

Proficiency in project management software and MS Office suite

Current driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the region

Desirable Skills

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

Experience with government-funded infrastructure projects

Knowledge of tropical region construction challenges and solutions

Experience with road and highway construction projects

Familiarity with local council requirements and approval processes

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent

Experience managing remote or regional projects
