Role: ETL Developer

Location: Melbourne (hybrid)

We're currently seeking an experienced ETL Developer to join an exciting data migration project. You'll be instrumental in transforming and migrating large volumes of data from a legacy Microsoft environment into several target systems.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Asset Support Team responsible for the existing platform, using your SQL and data transformation expertise to design, develop, and execute robust ETL processes.

Key Responsibilties:

• Collaborate with the Asset Team to understand source system data structures and business rules.
• Design and build ETL processes to extract data from SQL Server 2016, transform it into staging structures, and load into multiple target systems.
• Develop and maintain stored procedures, scripts, and batch processes to support data transformation and export.
• Conduct data reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy of data during migration.
• Manage the receipt and ingestion of response files from target systems.
• Perform data quality checks and resolve issues through iterative development and testing.
• Support ongoing process improvements, documentation, and monitoring throughout the migration lifecycle.

Essential:

• Proven experience with SQL (MS SQL Server), including complex queries, joins, indexing, performance tuning, and stored procedures.
• Hands-on experience in data migration projects, ideally involving large-scale and multi-target migrations.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes and best practices in staging, transformation, and data validation.

Desirable:

• Experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for ETL orchestration and automation.
• Scripting experience in Python for data manipulation or automation tasks.
• Familiarity with data reconciliation techniques, version control, and structured documentation
