The Position

At Vescient, everyone embraces human adaptability, applying their skills and knowledge across various industries while also having expertise in a specific field.

We have an immediate need for a person how has the above qualities with strengths in accounts, general office administration and finance.

This position forms a component of the team who are the backbone for the company. The most critical outcomes of the position are:

Handling office administrative and full bookkeeping duties, including invoicing and accounts payable/receivable.

Maintaining detailed and correctly entered financial records and assisting with monthly reconciliations and reporting.

Coordinating office operations, including ordering supplies, filing, data entry and general administrative support.

Produce scheduled and ad hoc financial reports for the Directors.

Payroll processing to guarantee every employee is paid on time and accurately.

Accurately manage all aspects of the accounts receivable and payable functions of Vescient.

Support the continual development of Vescient’s financial capability.

Assisting the Vescient team with ad-hoc projects and other duties as required.

You will also be willing to apply your knowledge and experience in other areas of the business. This may include actively collaborating in larger project teams, providing input into tenders, and proactively taking part in continuous improvement activities.

Essential Capabilities, Behaviours, Skills or Experience

Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar administrative or bookkeeping role.

Minimum Cert 4 in bookkeeping.

Cashflow management reporting and analysis.

Strong proficiency in using accounting software, such as MYOB and Xero and willingness to learn new software.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word (examples include creating templates, formatting tenders) and Excel (examples include preparing financial reports, presenting information clearly and concisely).

High level of organisational skills, time management skills with an eye for detail, enabling the seamless support to the businesses.

Active listener with clear, concise, & direct writing skills.

Administrating the organisations data, including personal and confidential information, keeping Vescient compliant with relevant standards, quality management practices or protocols.

Research and stay informed about changes to applicable legislation, standards or protocols that may impact Vescient.

A commitment to identifying opportunities to make the business more efficient and being part of improvement implementation initiatives.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills or Experience

Cashflow management reporting and analysis.

Finance, Accounting, Commerce or other related Degree level qualification.
